Rules about entries, Tips and Hints:

-  Every image will be eligible for every category of finalists (unless, of course, it is completely insufficient, ie, a non-color image will not be eligible for Best Use of Color, etc.).

-  Contestants should post their username first, followed by a list of their entries, numbered appropriately. If the image has a title, post that too. Example:

For an example of an entry, please see the ET Fountain Entry Example by [xido]. Note that neither of these images have backgrounds, and would be disqualified from the Best Backgroung category.


-  Contestants are encouraged to NOT advertise their entries alone in the contest in a rude, soliciting, inappropriate or biased manner. Any claims of someone trying to overrun a contest category or disrupting the contest in any way like these, and that are found to be factual can result in one or more of the following repercussions:
A) Contestants could be asked to remove all such comments, mood-links, and other irritating or disruptive advertising, B) disqualification from one or all categories, and/or C) being reported or registered with the Elftown and WFR Guild Guards for breaking contest rules.
Contestants are encouraged to advertise the entire contest and to have their friends vote for the entry that they feel is most applicable to the category they are voting for, not necessarily for their Elftown friend only.

-  Maximum number of entries: 3 images. At least one must include color.

2006-03-17 [xido]: See, I told you they would all stare in awe... didn't I? I said it, I did... and there she went, staring in awe... I didn't even have to pay her to say it either... well, not much anyways.

2006-03-17 [xido]: "iippo: Also if this contest is listed in art contests, you'll break their rules/guidelines if you enter your own contest." Well, I featured it on MC, but not sure if that would mean that we are featured on that page as well.. if not, well, then I won't enter it there. I am not worried about entrants who also feel like wanting to judge. We have three categories that are poll-based, and three that are judged. I don't know how much fairer you can get. I feel maturity will prevail in this particular instance, and am not afraid of scrutiny over that rule. I think it is actually MORE professional to do it that way.

2006-03-17 [xido]: Those who enter (and only after they have posted an entry) will receive a badge, which it (and other art stuff) is featured on the ET Fountain Art and Media Page.

2006-03-18 [xido]: Good, then we're not breaking any rules, and my contest is still happy. x.o) ;P I'm sure we're all mature enough to handle it. It is fair for everyone. I am being absolutely scrutinizing in the people I will be having as judges. The application I am having them fill out will prove to me whether they can adequately critique artwork, and maintain a professional view of the pieces they are judging, even if it is their own. The poll vote categories will deflect any other doubts about rigging the winners votes. At least 3 of the 6 winners will be ET-chosen in a true contest format. The other three will suffer much more scrutiny by our honest and fair judges.
